WHAT'S A PIN?
One pin = one piece of work.
A pin is created when a reviewer clicks an element on your live page and saves a note. That's it. Each pin captures:
- — The exact DOM element
- — The URL and viewport
- — A screenshot
- — The reviewer's intent
The reviewer doing the work creates the pin. Replies, edits, status changes, and exports don't count. Only the initial save.
Pins are also deduped at the workspace level. If Jess marks “the Pro CTA contrast fails,” that's one pin — even if four people end up discussing it.

What counts as a pin?
One pin = one element clicked and saved with a note. Replies, edits, status changes, and exports don't count. See the Pin section above.
What happens when I reach my monthly pin quota?
Existing work never locks — viewing, replying, editing, status changes, and exports keep working. New pin creation softly blocks once you hit the cap. Add a pin pack to keep creating, or upgrade for a higher monthly limit. We'll nudge you at 80% and 100% so it's never a surprise.
What's a pin pack?
A one-time top-up of pin capacity for the current subscription. Three sizes: 100 pins for $15, 500 for $50, or 1,000 for $90. Packs draw down only after your monthly quota is used up, in purchase order. Unused pack pins carry over as long as your subscription is active — they don't expire monthly. Only operators and admins can buy.
Are reviewers really free? Forever?
Yes. Forever. Reviewers (anyone who only comments on pins) never count toward your bill, regardless of how many you invite.
What's an operator?
Anyone who exports briefs, configures integrations, or manages the pin lifecycle (archive, delete, merge). Engineers and PMs running the workflow.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately, prorated. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
Yes — a card is required to begin the 7-day trial, but you won't be charged until day 8 and you can cancel anytime in one click. We'll email you 3 days before the trial ends.
How does annual billing work?
Pay 12 months upfront, save 20%. Annual plans auto-renew unless cancelled. You can switch to monthly at renewal.
What if I want to self-host?
Enterprise plan supports self-hosting. Contact sales.
How many pins does a typical team use?
The median 5-person team using Marca actively generates 80–200 pins per month. Studio's 500-pin quota fits most teams comfortably. Your usage is visible in billing settings.
